We actually designed the invites ourselves on the computer and sent the file to a local printing company who used their own cardstock to print the invites using thermography and gave us the matching envelopes. It came out to about $1 total per set for the invite, RSVP card, info card, and 3 envelopes. This could be a cheaper option possibly than buying the paper and envelopes and ink yourself.
I have heard a lot of people use: http://wwww.paper-source.com and
http://www.cardsandpockets.com
I would agree with PPs on the different sources they referenced. I know people have also used Holyoke Fine Papers to order cardstock. Best of luck!
I purchased all of my paper from the craft store Michael's. When i purchased the main color of cardstock, it was on sale 6 for $1, and I just had them give me a raincheck so I could continuously go back to get how much I needed for the sale price. JoAnn Fabrics also has good deals on single sheet cardstock every once and awhile.
As for the envelopes, I purchased mine from www.envelopemall.com. I got the Stardream Metallics envelopes, and they were really reasonably priced compared to other websites I found. I was able to get 200 envelopes for less than $50 shipped, and it was really fast shipping (only took about 2 days to recieve them after I placed my order!) They are also very good quality.
@melipede03: Those are SUPER cheap! About 7 dollars cheaper than paperandmore and 8 dollars cheaper than cardsandpockets for a 50 count. Decisions decisions.... I may order a sample from each site to see which one I like more!

To those of you who made your own invitations, where did you buy your paper and envolopes. I'm trying to go cheap but good quality.
