Like lots of brides to be I’ve been reading posts on here for ages but this is my first post. I guess I’m gonna be relying on this great site quite a lot over the next year as I don’t really have anyone around me to give their opinion on wedding related stuff.
My family live in England, FI’s family are in Ireland and the two of us live in Bulgaria and will marry here next year. Unfortunately, the wedding supplies/stationery/accessories etc in Bulgaria are really tacky and poor quality. Furthermore, we earn Bulgarian salaries and so we’re on a pretty tight budget.
So…I’ve trawled through ETSY looking for invitation ideas, finally found some that I like and have attempted to make my own. I would love any advice / criticism if you’ve got the time! 🙂
Here’s front and back of the invite, they will be printed on ivory cardstock 5″ x 7″….
And here’s front and back of the RSVP which will be printed postcard size…
Would really appreciate any thoughts…thanks 🙂

I like the colors, they’re very summery! I think you’ve got a great start going, but just needs more refinement one way or the other. You’re kind of inbetween styles right now, and I would really think about what you’re going for – funky & vintage or modern & formal. Either way, I would cut down on the number of fonts you’re using, I’m counting at least 7 and that’s just visually overwhelming. The other thing to consider is consistency – the RSVP back has more of a casual, cute, funky feel to the fonts (and I still think 3 is too many). The RSVP front is more of an engraver type font. Same with the actual invitation – you’re mixing a lot of styles.
You CAN do an intentional mis-match, and they can work quite well. However, it needs to be more over the top for it to work. Something like: http://headvsheart.com/2010/08/27/the-portfolio-of-jessie-harte/ or http://ohsobeautifulpaper.com/2013/03/jessica-andrews-vintage-inspired-typography-wedding-invitations/
If you’re not looking for that funky, vintage look, I would cut the number of fonts down to 2. Maaaaybe 3 at the outside. That automatically gives it a cleaner, more modern look.
