mine cost about 175 for 40 invites (115 guests)
but I already had the ink and printer and michaels had a buy one get one on the paper.
And 50 of that included the rsvp postcards I ordered online
I priced out all the paper and supplies for 100 pocketfolds and came up with about the same number.
I did Zazzle.com, and it cost me 299.44 for a 5x7 invite and two postcard inserts, for 150 invitations.
I think I spent $150 on 50 invitations, including paper, liners. tape, envelopes, pocket folds, and possibly postage, I can't remember. $60 to $70 for the pocketfolds and envelopes, $30 for the liners, $20 for the paper, and I lucked out on printing because my boss let me use our nice color laser printer. I already had a paper cutter and rounded corner punch.
You know what killed me? Shipping. I think I spent $20 just on shipping from the two websites I used. I also could have done DIY liners to save maybe $20.

Soooo I'm thinking about making DIY invites for my wedding. The wedding will take place over 2 days and not everyone is invited to both days so I pretty much need two sets of invites. I have estimated that it will cost about $400 to make the invites myself. This includes paper, envelopes, pocket folders and belly bands and some other accessories and tools. Is that too much? I need to make about 120 invites.
