have you been to the DIY section and looked at the invites there? Thats a big help.
Also i found google is my friend.. and also etsy.com! cant go wrong with that for inspiration.
best wishes!
Hmmm I'll show you the mockups I made for my own invites, previously (my colors were then green and black and white).

I just wrote a blog about ours the other day. Here is the link. I just have the front on there so far but the inside will have all the traditional information printed on the plain pearl ivory paper and then hand sewn with the silver thread. Our colors are blue, ivory and hints of silver.
Here are mine! I bought the full set at Michael's it is from there Brides collection so they are semi-DIY but we put a lot of work into them.
oo another one i like.. website.
Best downloads of invitations sets.. includes rsvp cards and the like :) there is also another one called www.designbetty.com who may still do have a range of freebie templates :D
Here are my DIY invites. I made them in illustrator and ordered all the paper from paper-source.com.

I didn't work on them nonstop so I guess about 2-3 weeks working on them an hour here and there. Once I got the main invitation page made I basically cut and pasted the elements onto the enclosures. I also researched a lot to find what I wanted them all to say. It was lots of fun and I'm using the theme of the invites throughtout the entire wedding.
@jenniejen: Did you make your own pocketfolds, or did you order those from Paper-source.com ?
I'm not yet engaged, so I haven't yet been able to make my own invites, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mrs. Gloss' DIY Invites:

We did box invitations and it was a huge hit!
I bought the pocket folds from paper-source.com as well as the paper and envelopes.
Here is the mock-up I did of the whole set.

And the actual finished piece...

my invites so far, details and map and accomodation cards still to add :) 100% DIY.
Ok. So mine aren't nearly as fancy as the other posts. The ones above are awesome! I ordered paper online (100 invites for $40) and made them myself with a rubber stamp and MS Word. My colors are ivory, green and gray. I was going for vintage.
@nuknuk-yours are amazing. They are one of my favorites in this post. How long did it take you to stamp them and where did you find the stamp?
Thanks!! It took me about two hours to print them all and stamp. I bought the stamp and ink pad at Michaels. They have tons to choose from. I tried several stamp pads, but decided that I like the Color Box pads the best. The ink is thicker. The best part is that I made all thesave the dates, and thank you cards using the same rubber stamp and ink pad. So they matched. :)
