Have you seen this?

@missyjane77:No I hadn't seen it! Thanks for the tip! I am hoping that someone who has actually made wedding invites will respond since all the demos seem to be single colour, single design
Thanks!
*bump* If you find anyone that's done this for their invitations, can you post a link back here? I've been thinking about this for a while, but I don't know if its really feasible or not. It seems like most blogs that mention it try it once and never pick it up again.
Here's a test of my Epic Six letterpress with custom plates from Boxcar press. Invites to come soon :)

P.S. This is for my cousins wedding in June, mine will be in February and im going with different design.
Here they are! After working 6 long hours, myself and my cousin got 150 invites done today. We are both so happy at how they turned out. Tomorrow or Monday we will be doing the RSVP cards, Menus, and Receptions cards. :)

@pixiedixie862: how much were the plates?
@His Lil SantosGirl: These specific ones were a little over $100. It was able to fit all the wording for the invites, menus, reception card, rsvps, and we added more wording for dessert signs and a monogram.
@pixiedixie862: I love how those turned out! I'm planning on making my STDs with the L Letterpress machine in a few weeks, so hopefully they'll look that great. I do have a question: what kind of paper did you use, and where did you get it?
@krobbie: Thanks! U'll love em! The paper is Cranes Lettra 110lbs. Got it from Crane & Co.
*bump* I wish I had the creativity to do this! I can't even talk myself into breaking out my Gocco. I'd like to drool over more pics of your invites though. :)
I love letterpress!! Any tips on what supplies I will need to do it myself? I currently have nothing .:(
Hello! I have a boxcar - plate as well but my letters would bleed all the time, any tips?
use very little ink and rool it out. By a little, I mean like a small little pea size drop of ink.
@pixiedixie862: AGREED!! It's so easy to over ink the plates! Make sure you have extra paper too. You're bound to make a mistake at some point. :)

I have been scoping around the net researching DIY letterpress invitations using the new Quickutz letterpress machine. I already own a Cuttlebug and have watched videos on youtube about how to make this work.
Does anyone have experience, tips or advise for me. I plan to order the kit and my colours this week.
The kit to fit my Cuttlebug is just $69 and the heavyweight paper is really cheap so I figure I can do a complete paper suite for around $2 per guest (not including the machine and ink since they will both be with me for a long time - the inks apparently are very strong so the tiniest amount will do) .
Please let me know!
