I have not had any luck with cheaper eyeshadows, so that’s one thing I plan on splurging on.  I also tend to like high end blushes, but I haven’t tried many cheaper ones yet.  Drugstore mascara seems to work as well for me as the expensive stuff.  I’m interested to hear what other people think because I’m thinking about the same thing!

False eyelashes! I don’t ever wear them, but I learnt how to for my big day and they made my look that much more glamourous and put together. The bonus is that they stay on even if you cry πŸ™‚ (Duo glue is the best)

As far as other products at Sephora goes, it really depends on what you are missing or need fresh for the big day. I love anything NARS from there. NARS blush was voted the #1 blush in the world three years in a row! They also have a beautiful illuminating powder that you sweep on over your foundation that makes you look like you are glowing πŸ™‚

Benefits “Bad Gal Lash” is an amazing mascara from there as well πŸ™‚

I’d say foundation and eyeshadow. Drugstone mascara, lipstick, blush, ect are usually adequate, but drugstore eyeshadows lack so much pigment and I’ve never had any luck with drugstore foundations either.

Yes to false eyelashes

Yes to a great foundation

Yes to Nars lipgloss in a pot

Yes to Chanel lipgloss in a tube (not frosted – bad for photos imho)

Yes to lancome waterproof mascara

yes to lancome artliner for liquid liner

GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN! πŸ™‚ If you don’t like what they do, ask them for 2nd appt.

A good primer (both face and eyeshadow primer), foundation (make sure the color matches outdoors if you’re going to have any photos outside) and finishing powder (something that won’t make you look flaky or dry).

Usually you can get cheaper shadows if you have a good primer since it helps hold the pigment on better. Mascara isn’t something you need to splurge on especially if you are going to use fake lashes (which I recommend) – but make sure it’s waterproof and doesn’t flake.

I’m going to agree and say that great foundation is a must.  I would also splurge on awesome concealer and powder.

NARS Orgasm – hands down, the BEST blush, it makes you glow, worth every penny

A good blush makes a big difference IMHO–I use Korres. Agree w/ PPS on drugstore mascara–it looks just as good.

I think a good foundation and primer are essential.  I love the Make-Up-For-Ever HD products.  Not too heavy but excellent coverage.  Also, if you’re like me & need a good face scrub, the brand ExfoliKate is excellent.

I never wear false eyelashes and want to for my wedding, so I tried them out for my bridal shower. I bought the single strand ones and they looked great! However, I suggest lining the entire lash with the glue, not just spots as the directions on mine said. I had them coming off for half of the party! I also got lashes that weren’t evenly cut. That made them look more natural and my guests at the shower didn’t even notice that they were fake. I got compliments on how well I did my eye makeup that day and I barely applied anything!

As far as the makeup goes, I also recommend splurging on a good foundation, concelor and eye makeup. I recently bought Bobbi Brown makeup and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! I do well with drug store mascara (except I haven’t found one that I’m dead set on using for the wedding) and on drugstore lipstick/gloss.

For Primer go to your local drugstore and get Monistat Chaffing Gel! It’s the same ingredients as Smashbox Photofinish Primer and WAY LESS $$$

At Sephora I’d go for a good foundation

I used Smashbox Photofinish… It covers well but is still very light! (I don’t wear alot of make up so having something heavy on my face was OUT)

I’d also be sure to get…..

MakeUp Forever HD MicroFinish Powder

I used it and it works GREAT! I’ve used it for my everyday makeup… even MOVED and through all the unpacking & sweating my makeup still looked great! It’s SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO worth the money!

Smashbox Limitless Long Wear Lip Gloss

I usually don’t wear anything on my lips I wanted a good gloss that would also last and really like this stuff!

Everything else I already had but still had gotten these things from Sephora:

Bare Minerals Foundation Powder…. I like it better than a loose powder but still use it as that over my SB foundation

Bare Minerals Warmth… I used it on my cheeks and bridge of my nose for a nice sunkissed look before applying a blush to my cheeks

DON’T spend bookoos on your application brushes!

Target carries a brand called: Studio Tools and they’re great! I bought a Foundation Brush & a blush brush and love them BOTH!.. for about 10 bucks for the both!

I also got my powder brush and an eye brow brush from CVS: “The essence of Beauty” The Powder Brush is one of my favs that I’ve ever Purchased!

Here is a great tutorial for a DIY make up application….. It’s what I follow but with the foundation/etc I listed above

Ace Your Face

Here’s a pic of me on the Big Day (It’s the only 1 we’ve gotten back, but you can still see how smooth everything looks)

oh geeze, sorry for the huge picture! eek! lol

Oh and I use Smashbox Photofinish Concealer as well… you can get a starter kit (foundation, primer, powder, concealer) for like 50 bucks and it lasts a couple months with everyday use =)
