Sounds like a very cute idea!!! Not many people use matches any more, so cool modern twist on a wedding classic. I also am tackling some diy projects myself and am making faux matchbooks out of index cards and putting a quote and picture inside. Its more of a book once opened but the outside looks like a matchbook. Keep up your diy spirit!!!
I like the mints, very cute! If they're not your favors, I'm curious, what will your favors be?
my favors will be the cookie buffet. my sister is amazing at baking cookies and it's something she wants to do for me. i hope the guests like it too! I will be making seals for the bags we use for cookies, too!
I like the way they look! I would say keep making them. I think it is a cute idea.
The frames look nice. Wish I would have come across that sale too! ;)
keep going! i really like them- you'll have a lot of guests comment because they are so different!
I think it's a great idea, who doesn't like a mint after a dinner for your breath..esp when you are the single girl dancing the night away with one of the cute groomsman
hehe
You could also just put them in a bowl with the cookie buffet: that way you don't have to make one or two for each guest but make 80% ...so maybe reduce the stress a little..
btw: we can be crazy and have diy mania together because my list is just as long...and it doesn't seem like it will ever finish because I keep adding things on there after I finish one..lol
OMG! you did a great job! Those look so PRO!!
Those mints look awesome!! Keep going!!!
The frames are also really cute!!!

So if you read my blog (in my profile), you'll know i've been tackling some major DIY over the past few days.
My first question is: what is your opinion of Matchbook mints? They're matchbook style, with mints inside (the mints are spearmint--green and white!) If you think they're a terrible idea, speak up. I just want to know if I should KEEP making these things. I like them, but am not 100% sure how my guests will react. These are NOT my favors, just a cute treat.
And I bought these frames for $.60 (marked down from a $1) at Michaels to label my cookie types for my cookie buffet:
The cards inside will be green with black writing, same colors as the matchbook mints above.
EDIT: trying to add pics now!
