Anyone who has done DIY menus, what type of paper did you use and where did you order it from? I want to add a little bit of color to each place setting and was thinking of using metallic silver paper for our menus. Our colors are navy, yellow, and grey so I think this would bring the grey into the tables nicely.
Not sure if anyone has used metallic paper and would recommend it? Is it worth the extra money, rather then using regular cardstock? I would also be using this same paper for bar signs, cookie tables signs, etc..

@MsPensFan: Personally, I like the look of matte paper better. It looks more professional.

I haven’t done DIY menu’s, but I know that Card Stock would work well and you can get it from Michaels in all kinds of different colors and designs.

I used the regular card stock in white and add some sparkle with violet jewels…it looks pretty nice!

I used peach metallic paper. My napkins are white, and I wanted to add color, too. Paperandmore.com is a great place to order from. Metallic paper is very pretty, and I love it. It just depends if you want to spend the money. The website I mentioned is reasonable and might surprise you. I even used metallic paper inside of the programs. It really made it POP. Do you have a large guest list?

@mslilacbride: Our guest list is pretty big. We are inviting about 200 people, so expecting around 175. I have checked out paperandmore and they do seem to have the best priced. I just can’t decide if enough people will notice if the paper is shiny or not.. 🙂
