Ah, super cute! My daughter loves her mobile, so I'm sure your new little nephew/niece will love this one, too!
This is great! Do you have any instructions (or links) to show how you made it? My friend is having a baby soon and I'd love to make her something.
That's adorable! I love it! I'd also like instructions if you have them.
That's so cute I actually made my sons as well...if I can find a pic..I'll post it. He's 3 now so I may not have any pics.
I don't really have instructions. I just made it up as I went along. But I'll try to describe what I used and did.
I bought the following from Joann Fabrics (a craft and fabric store): a few of your favorite fabrics, felt for details, chord for hanging (you can also use ribbon if you like), ribbon (I used 7/8" thinner is ok, but thicker will be hard to wrap around the ring), a 12" metal ring to hang the animals from (this can be switched to a foam ring, or an X with wood), little buttons for eyes, and filler for stuffing.
I started by drawing out the animals I wanted in the size I wanted. I also looked for ideas online. The simpler the shape, the easier.
Then I attached two pieces of fabric inside out with the drawn out animal. I cut the shape 1/4" to 1/2" outside of where I drew. Take the paper off.
Begin to sew at the top of the animal, where the chord will attach. Sew around and leave about an inch open to flip and stuff.
Pull the fabric inside out and use something hard and pointy to poke the tight corners out. Iron flat.
Stuff with stuffing. Fill small corners first.
Add a button on each side. I sewed them together not separately.
Cut out felt details. I sewed these on together also, but not as tight as the eyes because the felt is pretty delicate.
Cut the chord or ribbon the same length (about 12"). Tie a knot and sew the knot into the top opening of each animal. Sew it closed.
Tie the other end of the chord to the ring equidistance from each other.
Tape or glue the ribbon to the ring. Begin to wrap the ribbon around the ring TIGHTLY at a 45 degree angle. Wrap the chord and chord knots under the ribbon. Tie a knot when you reach the end.
Cut 3 long ribbons about 15". Knot them in the middle and pull the apart. Tie each end to the top of each chord.
This takes awhile, maybe 2-3 full days of sewing, cutting, stuffing. I had to redo a few animals because they didn't look like anything after I turned them inside out. My fingers were sore afterwards because I don't normally sew. I also didn't have a sewing machine! It would have greatly shortened the process. Hope all this helps. PM me if you have questions. Be patient and have fun! :)
Thanks for the instructions. I love it! I'm sure your sister is going to love it, too. :)
Thanks for all the compliments, ladies! My sister better like it after I put so much work into it, hahah! :)

So I am usually posting on the wedding side on this site, but I just wanted to share what I made! My sister is having her first baby in November, and her shower is this weekend. I made a mobile from scratch. It took a few days, but I love it and can't wait to give it to her!
Excuse the tacky elliptical in the background, I had nowhere else to hang it, haha.
