I thought this would be a nice gift to give to our parents when we finally get the pictures back. Has anyone found any somewhat inexpensive photo albums that would work nice? Or anyone already done this and have pics of their handywork??

I haven't but I'm planning to. I'm just getting on with the cutout on the front in black or white, printing my faves that include them and a few of myself and FI together (I know they'll want copies.) I'm not buying it from the Photog because it's ridiculously expensive. I think it's a good idea - I mean, they're going to want pics!

@underwoohoo: I don't have pictures, but I did DIY 6 albums. One each for my grandmother and my hubby's parents and 4 for us. I purchased the albums from Joanns.

Each of the albums are the same and were regularly around $30.00, but I got them on clearance for $4.97 each. Each of them has a window in the front cover.

For the grandmother and parent albums, I picked a special picture of us and cut it to fit in the window. For ours, I have made a DIY card that says "The Wedding of his name and my name, March 31, 2011, Album 1 of 4", etc.

I purchased the pictures for my grandmother and his parents from Snapfish.com because I ended up with a lot for free pictures from them. I purchased our pictures from Shutterfly.com because I ended up with even more free pictures from them.

Each album has a place to write notes beside each picture, so I wrote a story of our day. It was important for me to do that because neither my grandmother, nor his parents were able to attend the wedding due to health and age reasons.

Each album holds 160 pictures on the inside and 1 optional picture on the cover. I haven't spoken to my grandmother to see if she likes the album because she hasn't received it yet, but my hubby called his parents yesterday and they couldn't say enough nice things about it, and they said they look at it all the time.

Each album; not including shipping, only cost $8.61 to make; plus my time.

I will definitely be doing this when the time comes.

We're forking out the money for our photog to put together our photo book, but for the parents and grandparents we would have to get 9 albums and I don't have that kind of dough sitting around. I'm thinking I'll wait until someone has a 2 for 1 sale or something (Like MyPublisher) for the grandparents, and then look around for something nicer quality for the parents?

I used MyPublisher once before for a small, paperbook album and was really pleased with them. And they offer huge sales all the time, so you could go that route

We used Picaboo to create albums for ourselves and for both sets of parents.  They were both thrilled when they received them!  I got a special deal at the time (nearing Christmas)...buy one get one FREE!  Picaboo typically offers some sort of deal.  For example, they are currently offering 20% off Classic Photo Books.  Everyone thought turned out great!

I used AdoramaPix for our album and plan to make one for our parents at some point too. They offer "lay-flat" pages which is part of the reason that I decided on them. I don't have pictures that show what the finished book looks like but I can send you a link to my layouts and stuff if you would like---just PM me!
