@rachelkyinger:  sorry I havent done it myself but Ive seen other people doing that on the boards.  I think as long as you have a good printer you;ll be fine!

I haven’t heard of an one doing that but I think it would work. I am designing my own and printing then on vistaprint (rack card size, not in the wedding section) for 30 cents a piece! Thats my invitation saving tip! Good luck!

make sure the paper you choose to have it printed on is approved by staples. We made the mistake of just grabbing a style paper with a design on it and assuming we could get it printed on there. We were told they dont print on half sheets only full and they will cut the full sheets in half for you if needed.

I designed our invites, and then we had them printed through Catprint.com. I didn’t want to deal with cutting, and all that mess, so outsourcing was the best option. People gave so many compliments, and I’ve been asked by friends/family members to design for them, so I’d call it a success! :]

@rachelkyinger:  I designed  mine at home (I have no experience with graphic design) and printed on my canon pixma.  Total cost for my invites $2.89 ea (includes $0.65 postage).

@rachelkyinger:  Sorry for the late reply…

For 50 invites with 5 pieces each (invite, RSVP, info card, reception card and map/accommodations card), it was just over $100 ($104.37) with shipping.
As a bonus, they cut to any size, so you don’t pay extra for cutting (or have to deal with it yourself).

I went to Staples for extras, but it wasn’t worth it. The quality/price didn’t even compare.

Here are the invites, for reference.
