I saw a book of newsprint at Joann Fabrics a few months ago — and if I recall, it said you could print on it with an inkjet printer.  Have you tried that?

Ah neat, you can buy newsprint?!  I didn’t know that!

Does it yellow at all with time?  IIRC, traditional newsprint has a high acidic content and so doesn’t last too long…

No idea… I didn’t buy it after all, choosing instead to print our crossword puzzles on the back of 3 x 5 cards.

I’ve seen newspaper print scrapbook paper before. Maybe that would work? Cute idea.

I would imagine if the paper is made for scrapbooking, you should be ok.  Products made forcrapbooking is made acid-free (usually).

No, but if you try it, post an update to let us know how it worked! I’d love to do this for wedding announcements. 🙂

I think this is a great idea! I’m pretty sure you can find newsprint weight paper at craft stores. I love the look of these…

You can buy a ream of 500 sheets of newsprint from Pearl or Dick Blick for about $4 or less: http://www.dickblick.com/products/pacon-newsprint/

I used newsprint for my STDs, inkjet printers work great! I tried with a laser printer first and the ink would just rub right off. Inkjet is the way to go.

Actually the Newsprint you buy isn’t scrapbook paper, it’s made for artists to study on, it’s cheap and you get a lot of sheets so you can just rip off the page and keep drawing… I’m not sure that it’s acid free.

I am an artist who has a TON of newsprint sitting in my closet. I’ve only had it yellow once and that was a piece that was in direct sunlight and it had also been misted with water so that I could draw on a wet surface for a project I was doing… so I think you’re pretty safe about it not yellowing. You can get it at Michael’s, JoAnn, Hobby Lobby, Aaron Brothers, etc.
