Maybe tie the ribbon around the handle instead? I think that would look cute. Also, we had fan programs - they were a hit! Are you having an outdoor ceremony?
I would tie the ribbon around the handle, use shorter length paper, and round the edges

@Brianalaura: Yea, we're having it either outside of or actually in Squire's castle in Ohio! It's beautiful. But it's going to be in August, so I figured fans would be great for everyone! I'm so excited, I'll share a pic!

Possibly stupid question... what size paper are you using for these? I'm trying to make something similar but the paper size is just not working out for some reason. Suggestions?
@lox: I'm using 8.5x11 65lb cardstock, I'm lazy so I just folded 'em in half and glued it all together with Mod Podge. On the back we have Celtic Tree Astrology, something neat for the guests to read. If you need help with getting it to fit, I can send you my template so you can have something to go off of, just PM me your email.
Yeah, loose the ribbon, and I second rounding the edges, I think this would make them a bit more refined :)
@lox: I know you didn't ask me, but I'll answer too anyway! :-) We used 4x6 paper for ours (we just got them printed at kinkos). It worked well. Here's a picture of some people who moved them over to the dancefloor!

I think you should do the ribbon around the handle. We did that for our fan programs for our outdoor ceremony and everyone thought they were really cute.
Adding a little ribbon around the handle will make them perfect!
Thank you guys so much for your suggestions! I think I will both round the corner and add a thicker ribbon at the bottom of the handle. It will make my life much easier than threading all that ribbon!
So, this is what we came up with after suggestions... I fell in love with the ribbon. I also found black "tie the knot" ribbon!

This is a template, so please don't mind the extra holes... FI went a little crazy with the punch. I thought they were a little plain so we were trying to dress them up a bit, suggestions are appreciated!
