LOVE IT!! you look sooo pretty in your dress and your smile is infectious. btw this was one of the AA dresses I wanted to try on but they didn't have it in my size :(.. Tear, it looks awesome on you :D
Aww, thanks Bees :) You're all such sweethearts! :) Haha, it was funny because I was TRYING to make a sash before and it looked nothing like this one, I allllmost gave up, but then last friday night after MANY drinks and some karaoke(ing)...I ended up staying awake til 4am making this freakin' thing! :P
PS: @crebre - SMILE? There's no smiling going on there, just a lot of my mouth being wide open...looks like I'm trying to catch flies LOL!!!
Here's a real smile for ya! Hahaha =)
Great job, I love it! your very creative!
And the dress.. omg the dress... YOU LOOK ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!!
I loooooove that!!
Can you post instructions on how you did it? Pretty pretty please?
@lovebug: you're adorable!!!! i am making my fascinator sometime this week (wish me luck lmao) it may end up being a trashinator if I don't like it.
@danadelphia - I didn't take any pics while I was making it :/ I will attempt to make a step for you though :)
Thanks again for all the compliments ladies :) :)
It looks great... good idea to include something that will remind you of someone that meant so much to you!!
Thanks @ OBM. There are a lot of little additions to our wedding inspired by her :)

I love it!
Eould you mind giving a little tutorial on how to make the rosettes??
:) :)
Love your dress! Do you have any full body pics of you in?
WOW. WHat a wonderful job!! How sweet including your grandmother on your special day... To Remember my grandmother, I am going to put a picture of her in a locket I'll be wearing! Again, You look great, and awesome job!
How gorgeous is that? andyes you have a great smile!
It's so special that it has a bit of your grandma too. So thoughtful.
What a touching way to have a piece of your grandmother with you! The sash matches perfectly with the dress. I would have been doing the happy dance too!
That's so cute! And I love that you incorporated your grandma's lace into it. Awesome job!
Thank you thank you thank you, Bees! :)
@soontobemrs. - I do have one from the first time I tried it on...without the sash and a few pounds heavier, LOL
Here she is!
PS: This is the UTBE video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiBFITlZh8Y&feature=PlayList&p=1673113F53AD060A&index=0&playnext=1 that I kind of used to figure it out, but I used silk, not ribbon. I found this hard though, because I'm left handed and it didn't look right when I did it! :)
I ended up just taking 2 pieces of silk, cut them into strips (skinny at one end and then larger as it gets to the other). I just put my finger in the middle on top of the skinny end and swirled it around my finger, folding it where I felt it needed to be folded and hand sewing it together each time I went around. Does that make any sense?? Then I made the sash, put the lace on it, and then sewed the 2 rosettes into place..
I basically just watched a bunch of youtube videos and then made it work LOL
you did such a fantastic job!! so cute, and love the dress!

Hey ladies, it took a while, but check out what I created! I can't believe it matched my dress perfectly...meant to be! It has a piece of lace of my grandmas on it (she passed away years ago, we were really close...it's my little bit of her that I will have with me on my day). The rosettes are silk as well as the "sash" part. It's going to be sewn into my dress...like it's been there all along. It won't actually tie in the back or anything...if that makes sense.
Check it out! (don't mind the goofy pics, I'm really going to have a hard time getting the under wraps for the professional pics, haha)
