So, I am making my save the dates and have some questions for you gals…the online market of kraft paper cardstock and envelopes is overwhelming. Have any of you done STD’s (looks dirty, i know) on brown cardstock with glued on photos and printed at home? I want to do a 4×6 or 5×7 card with 3 black and white glued on photos and the STD info printed on the brown card at the top. First question, do you think I have to have envelopes if I glue the pictues with paper rubber cement? Second if you do think I need envelopes, any suggestions on how to get them matching the cardstock? I was just going to cut the cardstock to size by hand. I am trying to go with postcard postage instead of regular envelope postage. And Rubber cement is pretty light.
The invitations to the wedding will be another blog alltogether….

MrsVoyles: I’m not sure if you are still looking, but I just bought 5×7 and 4×5.5 kraft paper notecards and matching envelopes in a pack together at Hobby Lobby. I paid $5 for the 5×7 pack of 50 cards and envelopes and $3.50 for the pack of 50 4×5.5 cards and envelopes. The cards are folding ones but I plan on just cutting them in half to be flat and buying extra envelopes.
The brand is The Paper Studio and it’s the value pack. They are available in store and online on sale right now. Normally are twice the prices I paid.

It’s a little more expensive than the previous suggestion, but I used paper-source to purchase all of my kraft paper. It’s thick cardstock, and you can get them in a variety of size ranges with matching envelopes.
I used their paper for my save the dates, invitations, programs, dj request/escort cards, dinner menu & drink menu.

You might want to use envelopes so the photos don’t get ruined in the mail. I feel like it’s a messy process and I would hate for photos to be scratched/crinkled even if they stick with the rubber cement. Just a thought
PS- You rock. I stink at all DIY.

Ladies, thank you for the insights!!!!! I was looking at paper source and was wondering if it would be right and I plan on stopping at hobby lobby tomorrow. T hank you for confirming what i was already thinking! It’s hard shopping online for this type of thing because you never know what you are going to get. And I am going to do envelopes with theSTD’s but postcards for my rsvp.
