Like lots of bees I am determined to do most of the decor and extras myself. I have been keeping a spreadsheet of each project so I can see how much I spent on each project. My daughter asked how much have I spent all together. Well today I let Excel do the math and found out that I have spent a whopping $1400!!!!! I cannot believe it. Sometimes DIY is saving some money but I am scared I am not.
Any bees out there burning a hole in their pocket with DIYs?

@baletrina: I’m actually scared to think about how much I’ll be spending on certain DIYs, but I guess I don’t really mind. It gives my wedding a personal touch and keeps me busy.

And just to compare here are the projects I have completed:
- Save the Dates
- Bridal Shower Thank You Notes
- Rose Petal Aisle Runners
- Rehearsal Dinner Invitations
- Necessities to Make Bridesmaid or Best Man Dresses
Partially completed, meaning I need to buy more stuff:
- Ribbon Wands
Looking at the list it doesn’t look like a lot but it was A LOT of work!

I think DIY is awesome and even if the price isn’t right, its so cool to see and use for you memories something you have made.
Unfortunately , I have no DIY bone in my body so I haven’t made anything yet. I do have a strict budget so I have just been collecting and buying things to use that make the wedding unique but not having to make it totally per se.
