That is super super sweet and an idea I haven't heard before. The only possible downside that I could see is a couple who has their feelings hurt because they weren't chosen for the idea.
But seriously, I love it. You have to post pictures when you're done :)
I think that sounds like a great idea. I would put the table numbers in chronological order, so guests can find their seats.
Great idea girl!!! I am from Sac too!! Where are you getting married??
@MissKitty--I am getting married at the Monte Verde Inn in Foresthill. Where are you getting married?
So far the only people that have gotten their feelings hurt is my mom because she divorced my dad. I keep trying to explain to her that we are honoring our married family members and it is nothing disrespectful to her...she is finally starting to come around to the idea.

My first post to this wedding blog. I have to say, I'm loving being a part of this. I love seeing all of the amazing, brilliant things ya'll are doing for your weddings. You are quite the crafty bunch. I consider myself pretty crafty and now that I'm planning my wedding, all the creative juices are flowing. One of the most unique things I am doing is my table numbers. I don't have photos yet because it is a work in progress but here's how it goes...
My fiancee and I wanted to make our wedding about family. One of the ways we are honoring our married family members is by displaying photos on our tables as the table numbers. We are have ten tables so we chose 5 couples on my side and 5 on his side. We sent out letters asking each married couple we chose for a photo of them on their wedding day and the date they got married. Once we get all the photos back, we will place them in frames and put the year the were married on the bottom of the frame. So my grandparents would be a wedding photo of them with the year 1952. That table would be called 1952. We will repeat this with each couple. So instead of table numbers 1-10, they'll be various, like 1952, 1993, 1977, and so on.
What do ya'll think? I can't wait to get it all going...I think it'll turn out great!
