Lovely combination!

My single critique is that your vases currently overpower the blooms (unlike the inspiration picture). I think all three need more flowers.

Great start! I think it could use a little more fullness where the vase meets the base if the flowers. I did my sister’s centerpieces and was able to achieve this by making a grid out of floral tape on the mouth of the vase. It helps to place the flowers at an angle to create that fuller look. Love the choice of flowers and colors, can’t wait to see the final product!

I think that you should try adding some floral foam so that the flowers can burst out more. Right now they look cramped. I love it though! It’s very pretty/

You’ll want to buy wet floral foam for fresh flowers but you can add water too. I think that the flowers are just cut too short. If you stick them into the foam you can control the hight and shape better, and the leaf in the vase will cover up the foam. I think they’ll look exctly like your inspiration photo if you do this.

@Baroness_Meg:  Love the colors!!  I agree with PP it just needs more flowers!  But awesome first attempt!  Can’t wait to see the final outcome, I am DIYing my flowers too.  I am just waiting for my pine vases to arrive, so I can play with flowers too!!

Definitely use foam and green first :). If you create a ring of greenery (like salal) at the base, it will also appear much fuller which will allow you to use fewer flowers and save money.

Those look great! I agree with the comments from the PP’s – with smaller vases, a few more blooms, and a little more practice, I think you’re going to have some truly amazing flowers!

@Baroness_Meg:  Yes I am using real flowers.  I did a practice bouquet last week, and it went better than I had expected.  I don’t think my centerpieces will be quite as easy.  I will definitely post when I get them.
