Well, I guess it’s official. The Save The Dates are on their way. I love to scrapbook and make cards, so I thought DIY stationery elements would be a perfect fit for me. We even have a small guest list, so I only need to make 20-25 of each project. Here is the final result:
I used a modification of the invite design for the background and then we got busy with a camera and self-timer. The envelopes are from Paper Source and the cardstock, envelopes, and liners are all from Cards and Pockets (which is an awesome resource for DIY brides). I also plan to create the invitations, programs, OOT booklets, and some other projects. It’s definitely a labor of love, and I don’t think I actually saved any money, but I enjoy the process and I’m pleased with the final result.
Thanks to fellow bee, Mrs. Duckling, and Martha Stewart for their inspiration:

Those are amazing! I’m really impressed! I consider myself a crafty person, but I would never have the patience or foresight to put something like that together. I can’t wait to see the rest of your projects!

Well, I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that there was A LOT of trial and error. Cardstock scraps, glittery snowflakes, and little envelopes are littering my craft space right now!
The first round of numbers were all separate and they kept bending and flipping around backwards. The connected numbers work much better. The part I actually liked the best was the little label on the envelope. I only glued the left half so that the envelope flap can be tucked into the right side. It keeps the envelope secure without having to glue or seal it shut.
Thanks for the kind words 🙂

Those are adorable! I wanted to incorporate the wedding date on ribbon like you, but our guest list was WAY too big to cut out and string 120 of those small numbers.

Hi date twin! Those are awesome! You did a great job!! I like crafts and all, but I’m notorious for nevering finishing projects. My hat’s off to you.

I love the 12-11-10 date… it feel like a countdown AND it’s easy to remember. We really wanted 10-10-10, but it’s not a Saturday 🙂

“The Countdownt to the PARTAAY” is what I’ve been telling people when they ask my date! LOL I told my FI how lucky he is that it’s so easy to remember, plus it will be super easy for him to count anniversaries!
