I am also DIYing my veil. I think veil prices are redic so I asked my Aunt to make mine.

Totally where you are at! Good job, looks great already! I want a birdcage veil and they are so simple and they are charging $50-$100. I did mine and it cost me $5! And I made a fascinator of peacock feathers from my Grama's house. Those range in the same area. DIY is where it's at.

Other people not waning to pay through the nose for a veil should consider buying it from asia on ebay! I got my cathedral length veil for $20!!

Wow that already looks nice. I tried looking at the craft store (joann) for tulle for a cathederal for myslef and they didnt have 72" or 108" width. =/ Cant wait to see the finished product!
I KNOW prices are insane I seen some for over $1000! If I had any kind of sewing skills I would try to do this as well!

Alright, so here's the update!
I want scattered crystals all over the veil that lessen as you make your way up. They will be individually attached with glue.
Second, I want to know which length you ladies think is better?
Note I'll be standing on stairs... here's more pics..
Looks beautiful! I am also thinking of partially doing my own--maybe purchasing a used veil and adding some crystals/ sparkles on the edges. Does anyone have experience with this?
Like the one where I'm almost picking my nose... does that look weird? The veil would have to cascade down the stairs... and my maids will be on the ground floor, skip a step then BM then skip another step and then BM.

Well my mom is. So tried on the huge ass veil in the bridal salon and it was 500. WOW, yeah umm no way. So we asked the measurements. 108x108. Off the the fabric store bought 108x108 and it was 20 bucks. Bought a trim for 20 bucks. We've done a rough edge cut and here she is rubber banded it to my hair.
