I was just so happy with my veil on the wedding day that I had to post about it. I was really inspired by the ‘drop veil’ look (word by kate middleton, grace kelly), and I tried one on at a store that I fell in love with, but it cost $200+. So I set out to make my own. I ordered a custom length circular veil with a pencil edge from occanseydesigns.com. Then from lace co, I ordered about 10 floral lace applique, which I then started sewing…then sewing turned to glueing when i realized i only had a few more weekends to work on it. I also glued on some rhinestones to intersperse with the applique and a comb at the top. The veil was about knee length from the back. Here’s the end result!
The first pic was taken when I was trying different patterns on the veil. They’re only stuck on with pins.

Your veil is beautiful. I’m actually going to be working on mine this week. Until I saw yours, I thought I didn’t like drop veils. How did you affix it to the comb? Hot glue?

Absolutely pretty. May I ask how you secured the veil to your head? I actually received a 3m plain veil as a gift and this is totally goegeous! And you inspired me to totally make one too! 🙂

I’m making my own drop veil, too! I have the tulle cut out already. Just waiting on the lace trim I ordered. I hope it turns out as well as yours! Beautiful!

Oh, how beautiful! You were a gorgeous bride! Do you recall the length you used for your drop veil. Was it 80inches?
Getting ready for a vintage wedding using my deceased grandmother’s gown. Her veil has been gone many years ago but the pictures show a veil just like yours, minus the appliques. I am trying to duplicate her’s but don’t know where to start. Yours is sooo like hers.
Thanks so much for sharing!
