DIY-ing your veil is an excellent idea!! I've made a few veils, and by the time you're finished with one you'll be amazed and a bit disgusted by how much bridal stores charge for veils.
What kind of veil are you thinking of? I've made birdcage veils and regular fingertip length veils, some with blushers and some without, so I could definitely give you some pointers. I'm definitely crafty and love to sew and knit, but you really don't need much sewing expertise to make a veil. It's all in the shape of how you cut the netting/tulle.

Hey bees! Any of you have any experience making your own veil? I am a newbie to sewing, but I would love to DIY a veil to match my dress (since everything I have seen so far would be settling for something 'good enough'). I love to craft and have 9 months to make the thing...
Any tips? Has any one detailed, sewn, or altered their own veil who can offer some good tips and pointers?
