So bees…I need help!
We don’t have a budget for videography, and I don’t really want anything fancy. I just remember growing up and loving watching my parents wedding recording.
I don’t need/want anything fancy, just a good quality recording of the ceremony that we (and hopefully our future children) can look back on.
I’m thinking of just renting a nice video camera and having a family member record the day.
Has anyone else done this? I need suggestions for the kind of camera! And really any other advice you might have to offer 🙂

I haven’t actually done it yet, but I’m planning on doing the same. I got a Flip camera for Christmas, and it does seem to work really well. I’m planning on placing a digital voice recorder at the alter just in case it doesn’t pick up our voices, too.
When/if you edit, I would recommend iMovie or Windows Movie Maker (depending on your computer); they’re both pretty simple to use.

Good call with a second recording device. I was wondering about that. I know a lot of videographers will actually mic the officiant and bride/groom.
I was planning on renting something a bit bigger than a flip, but I have no idea what the quality difference is…. anyone else have thoughts/suggestions?

So I want to rent an HD video camera, tripod, mics, whatever we need. Did anyone do all of this on their own?
