I DIY’d my make-up, but not my hair (it was actually cheaper for me to get a pro vs purchasing all the necessary equipment).  This pic is from my trial.

@85kym13:  I looked at SO MANY videos on how to apply false eyelashes, which I thought was the most difficult part of the whole make-up application.  Here’s a link to one of that explains things really well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyIER9a2BHA.  Other than that, I used bare minerals, so I watched some videos on how to apply it.  Since my make-up wasn’t very dramatic, it was pretty fail proof lol.

@housebee:  My wedding is destination and the biggest worry I have is hair and make-up.  I am arriving a month in advance, so will try to squeeze in a couple of trials.  Where the wedding is, people tend to cake on makeup and poof the hair.  So not my style.  If I like none of them, I have come to accept that I will be doing my own hair and makeup.  I much prefer to be pampered on that day though…

@MrsTickledPink:  I think if you bring inspiration pics/ideas, they should be able to do what you want.  Hopefully you’ll be able to find a good stylist out there 🙂

I don’t usually wear much makeup at all during the day (to work, out to dinner, etc.) but I just couldn’t justify the money on a MUA. Everyone I knew tried to talk me out of it… but it turned out beautifully!

I watched a lot of tutorials on Youtub (applying fake lashes, contouring, etc.) I also bought nice, pro grade make up at Ulta. If you’re looking for good tips on DIY makeup, I’d check out Mrs Rainbow’s tutorials (she was a bee blogger). They were super helpful for me!

I did my own makeup! I had a terrible trial and had to fire the MUA. I am a total makeup junkie so I felt comfortable doing my own. Jaclyn Hill on YouTube is amazing for makeup tutorials, Lauren Curtis as well. I went to sephora and picked up some new products for the wedding and still spent less than it would have cost for the MUA. Important things to have are face and eyeshadow primer and a setting spray so your makeup won’t wear off, and false lashes!
