Yup, I’m making mine! I purchased some graphics from Etsy and have ben designing them. I will be using CatPrint to print them, and actually just ordered my Save the Dates last week!

I’m also doing the envelopes myself…outer envelpoes with my own calligraphy, and inner envelopes which will be “lace” using a doily.

I don’t have many pictures yet but so far it’s been an easy and fun process!

Here’s the rough version of my Save the Date (I’ve since made a few changes but its basically the same design):

I’m planning on doing this, or having a talented friend help, so I don’t have much advice at the moment. I WILL say that “less is more” in this case. Often, when DIY-ing, people go overboad — too many fonts, too much information, too many colors, too many pictures, etc. Think of it like getting dressed in the morning: you stand in the mirror and remove 1-2 accessories. Do that with your design, and I’m sure it’ll look great 🙂

ClaudiaKishi:  Can you tell me which vendor you used to purchase the graphics? I’ve seen many designs that you can have the vendor personalize, but I’ve never seen just the graphics that you can purchase.

I designed ours….twice! Graphic design has been a hobby of mine for quite a while, so I was ecstatic to do the DIY thing.

I went with a watercolor-theme and created and used various brushes to make the background sets I wanted in high resolution, then did the rest in illustrator. Here is our “suite”:

fscarlett:  There are so many on Etsy! I’m not sure what you’re looking for exactly, but I knew I wanted something kind of hand drawn and floral. I bought those graphics from Graphic Market: https://www.etsy.com/shop/GraphicMarket?ref=pr_faveshops

Another store I liked was GrafikBoutique: https://www.etsy.com/shop/GrafikBoutique?ref=pr_faveshops

I actually like their graphics better but I didn’t like the colour choices as much. I just searched “floral wedding clipart”, so you could try searching “wedding clipart” or “[keyword] wedding clipart” to find what you need.

The only thing about those files is that you need some sort of image editor to use them- I use GIMP, which I believe you can download for free- you can make high quality, professional projects with it.

pharmy:  Ooh, those are lovely! I thought about doing something similar but in the end I wanted florals. Great job!

ClaudiaKishi:  thanks so much! I’ll check both of those out. My SO insists on creating the invites himself. But I want a backup….
