So originally, my FI and I planned to have a 200 people wedding next May. We started planning it and I decided it wasn’t for me. My Casablanca 1914 comes into the store in two months and one week! Eeeeek! Lol but now I want to just have an intimate me, him, close close family, and our best friends there. Like a 50 people wedding type thing………… Anyways, my question is has anyone ever did it for under $1000 or $1200 at the most? And how do you do it DIY like mason jars and candles and doing it at a family’s house….. We’re cooking the dinner and we have a baker for the cake in the family by the way. Thanks in advance for replying! 🙂

@tobemrstaddesse: first off, congrats on figuring out what is YOU and going for it!
This is a great website for DIY resources and inspiration for small weddings:
Are you on Pinterest? TONS of DIY projects you can with lots of love for next to nothing that look so cute!
Here is a wedding that was done for 1000:
One for 1200:
You can def do decor and food for under 1200. I am not sure if you need a photographer or not, but a huge chunk of money tends to go that direction. I’d say the most expensive things are venue, photography, and food so if you have 2 of those covered you are doing pretty good :-).

I did mine super cheap. Don’t have the breakdown. I did eclectic glamor I guess. I had nice candle sticks on all the tables. I bought the sets at thrift stores cheap. Nice silver bowls (also thrift stores) and arranged dollar tree flowers in them. Bought the bunches and cut them apart. Made my own escort cards and table numbers. I think each table was around $12 each, tops. We did all the food from a local HyVee, it was amazing food. I was shocked, it was better than any of the caterers we tested and a quarter of the price. DIYed liquor and had a friend bartend. Got most of our invites and stuff from vistaprint.com w/ a 90% off coupon from coupon cabin. And a friend djed super cheap.
A tiny budget can be done. It just takes a little more more. I was super happy with how our looked.
I super frugal so if you need any help finding deals or an inexpensive way to do things. Feel free to dm me.

@tobemrstaddesse: what are you doing for tables and chairs? Ipads can take VERY nice pictures if you know anyone who has one that can take pics for you. Also if a family member has an ipod to play for music, there’s your DJ.
