Hey crafty bees, I just finished making the bouts for all the guys out of wood flowers (all the other flowers will be real, but FI is a carpenter and he liked this idea better for the men) and I’m very happy with them – just wanted to see if anyone could think of anything that might be missing? Our wedding will be outside in my parents’ backyard, fairly simple with ivory/white/pale green flowers with lots of greenery. Groom and groomsmen will be in light gray pants and vests, and my dress is ivory lace.

wow those are fantastic! How did you do that!? 🙂
They look great. If you really wanted to add something, I feel like in front of the bout could use a little something, if that makes sense. Like a little more greenery to compliment and balance in front of the flower with the greenery behind. And maybe slightly to an angle for interest? Just throwing some ideas out there 🙂
I love love love the greenery behind and the shavings flower, you did a fantastic job!

Awesome! They look great, and very modern chic.
Were the flowers easy to work with? My sis and I have been contemplating using them in my aisle decor…

@Nikii_Luv: Yes, as a matter of fact they were easier to work with than I expected. Their texture is something akin to that thin styrofoam sheeting that your TV screen or monitor would come wrapped in, if that makes sense. Very flexible, which is good because I was worried about thm breaking. My nails are pretty long and they snagged on one of the outside petals and ripped a small hole in it, so just be careful. The ones I ordered didn’t have stems on them, so I got some 18-guage floral wire and poked it through the little nubbin at the base of each flower to make one. After that, it was just like working with fresh flowers. I got them from this Etsy shop.
