I paid $1200 for 8 hours, which included 2 DJ’s, 1 MC, and lighting and we were very happy with our DJ.

We paid $1,400 for our DJ, for the exact same thing that Mrs. Moo got.  We had the DJ set up for the ceremony, too, so they could play specific songs we wanted for the recessional/processional.

We spent a little bit more since they had to set up a lot earlier for the ceremont. The cost would have been lower  if they were just setting up for the reception.

http://www.invisibletouchdj.com, they were very professional and delivered everything we agreed to.

http://www.flashbackent.com. Our dj was Bernard and he was excellent and very interactive. He had our guests sing love songs to determine which tables would go first (we had buffet style).

Pricing can vary greatly depending on DJs experience, amount and type of equipment needed etc…

Remember that you aren’t just paying for a 4 hour performace but 5, 8 or 10 years of experience on how to read a room, energy, body language and then program an appropriate set of music.

Please beware of beginner DJs charging very cheap pricing and promising you the world. Remember that it’s true "you get what you pay for"

That being said, you should be able to find a quality (Fully insured with backup equipment) DJ between $1000-$2000.

We have a list of questions you should always ask a potential DJ prior to hiring on our website.

Hope this is helpful and good luck!

My friend and I both hired Tom Chandler of California Sounds http://www.calsounds.com/ for our weddings.  I paid him about $1100 including tip for 6 hours even though he’s there much longer because he comes early to set up.  He’s an excellent emcee and has rave reviews on Project Wedding.

I second (or third?) the recommendation for Tom Chandler.
