I'm not in CA but just looking for a general idea as well. We just got a quote of $1600 in upstate NY.
We have a live band in SD for $3000... my BFF also got a live band (in OC) for $3500.
I'm on a budget and found Dave from DRG Sound, they're a husband and wife team and they come highly recommended from my wedding officiant. I would've gone with them for my DJ/lighting services but then a friend hooked us up with another DJ. Dave's standard packages start at $600

My wedding is in the LA area and we went with Tom Chandler of California Sounds. He was about $1100 for the ceremony and reception.

How much are you paying for you DJ? live band?
I've been looking into DJs and Livebands for our wedding in September (ahh) and I know that obviously a live band will cost more.. but what is a good price range.. please help!
