When I first started researching DJ’s, I noticed that their prices were all over the map. (We knew we didn’t want to spend a lot on a DJ compared to other areas.)  We hired Bell-Aire Music and paid $800 for 6 hours, which included the ceremony music.  Rick did a great job and is super organized.  Because of his great rate, he does book up really quickly.

@MrsChemE:  He is more of a background DJ. We had a small wedding (about 40 people).  The only song we had for the ceremony was the parents and myself walking out, so that was pretty easy.  Based on the small group, and knowing some people wouldn’t dance, there were only a couple songs that didn’t have many folks out there.  He does a full booklet to gather information on everything and get a feeling for the type of music the bride and groom like.

@MrsChemE:  That sounds reasonable to me as long as they’re good. If you want a better deal I would book with Curtis Knight entertainment and request their DJ Rolling Rick! I met him and he seems awesome! Booked him! $1150 I think for 6 hours of DJing, including ceremony music and reception. Very decent prices and an OUTSTANDING reputation. And soooo responsive.

@MrsChemE:  He is whatever you want him to be! He can do both. He definitely gets people and reads personalities well. It’s easy to be up front with him about it. I’m kind of in the middle and he is willing to work with that. He made me feel very at ease. I really trust him!

Also he is SO organized. He’s basically an extra day-of-coordinator for my reception! I am not worried about anything going wrong with the reception at all! I know he’ll be on top of it. In 2011 or something he was voted the 9th top DJ in New England I believe. He’ll tell you. Worth a meeting! They’re located in Tewksbury. And they also have this amazing online database where you can fill out everything- whether or not you want a garter toss, what song to play for each thing (first dance, bouquet toss, cake cutting, etc.), the do not play list, the must play list, everything you can possibly think of! So you can update those things whenever you want and he’ll have it.

Let me know if you want to know anything else!

We are using libb tunes.    He seems to be a very laid back guy.  He states he is an in your face kinds of dj, but does like to engage with the crowd a little, which i think is great….gets ppl going and having fun.   For 6hrs he is $806.00, which isnt bad.   Plus his reviews were great everywhere i checked.

You can try DJ MaShane (http://www.DJMaShane.com) All the prices are listed on his website but they also have another DJ that works with him that is a little cheaper.  Both can be either interactive or just background type of DJ.  Just tell them what you are looking for.  They normally book up really fast as well.  Good luck!

@tresim36:  That’s a pretty good price.  What company is it?  Do you know if it wireless uplighting or the old plugged in uplighting and if they are LED or not?  As a wedding planner I never liked the plugged in uplighting because you see cords going around the room and limited to where you can put them.  The ones I always rented from DJ MaShane are wireless LED so no cords and they don’t get hot which is a big plus when you have kids at the wedding.

We really got lucky, we hired a dj for the whole night for 300.00. He didn’t have the fancy lights, or bubbles but he did a fantastic job. He played all our songs on time, and played a few games that he did at previous weddings. And he traveled quite the distance to make our wedding!

We are paying $895 for our six hour wedding and he included dance lighting. His over time is just $100 an hour (but I don’t think we’ll need it). He is also the owner and DJ of the company. We booked him 18 months ago, so not sure what his prices are now or maybe the same. He seems really nice and friendly and his website says he likes to work with people with their budgets, (not too many people say that anymore). We got lucky and called and were able to meet with Rick Bellanti and booked him right away. Bell-Aire Music Productions – He’s not cheesy or in your face type of DJ, we def didn’t want the type of DJ that goes on the dance floor and acts like a fool. He was very organized and professional. And now I recommend him to all my family and friends.
