@FallBzz: I went with DJ Ken Drew (my wedding is in Webster). I have heard good things about him & I believe we paid only $700 (maybe $800?) I dont have the paperwork here. I personally would not pay that much but it just depends on what your budget is. I believe you could aboslutely find someone for a lower price though.

I actually think that’s pretty fair.  Our wedding was in Groton, MA and we paid $1,500 for 5 hours so $300 for the extra hour seems reasonable.  You want to be careful about going too cheap on a DJ.  You want to be sure they have the proper liability insurance and the proper equiptment for you event so sometimes the lowest price isn’t the best option.

I’m about to start researching this too.. what have other people seen by the hour? I only have one quote so far, for $250/hr..

We paid $1800 for our dj for 4 hours and I would be willing to pay twice that for the professional quality of his service. He is one of the best in the South and when pretty much all of your reception relies on the quality of your dj, you should really research them if you ever feel like the price is “too good to be true” lol
