My fiance and I need recommendations for DJs in the Bay Area. Ideally, we’d like a DJ who is fun and will have the guests dancing all night. We’re getting married Sept. 2008 in San Francisco. Thanks for the help!

Hello! I highly recommend Paul Zorich of Darren Z Productions. He was recommended to my husband and me by two of our friends who had gotten married last year. He’s a freelancer, so if you contact him directly, his prices are great (we paid $850 for our wedding with no overtime fee). Some of the companies he works for charge $1200 and the only difference is that they contact him with the event instead of the couple contacting him directly.
We had a blend of younger and older friends and family, and Paul was very skilled at catering to everyone. Even our parents’ friends who historically haven’t danced at weddings danced at ours. 🙂 Paul was very professional (dressed in a tux, was polite and respectful to guests, made sure he could pronounce our wedding party’s and parents’ names, etc.) while also being very funny and smooth as an emcee.
You can reach Paul at [email protected] or 510-220-5999. He’s quick at responding to email and really fun to talk to. Please tell him that Stephanie and Larry say hi!

I am using Kevin Walton (http://www.muziquarium.com/) for my 8/08 wedding. He is out of San Jose, I believe, but traveling to Oakland for us. Rates are very reasonable ($1000 all inclusive 5-12 midnight) and he had great reccommendations. Very professional and prompt at returning phone calls, emails, etc. Good luck! DJs are tough, and I found that a lot booked WAY in advance. I.e. – I started calling around in July ’07, and the first 3 people I called were already booked!
