Im using a friend of a friend who just started a DJ service. He DJ'd my friend's wedding and did a great job. They had a DJ and then a live band. We're doing the same thing.
He'll be doing the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner (basically from 3pm -8pm) and then we're having a live band from 8pm - 11:30pm. He gave us a quote of $880.
I was at a wedding over the weekend where the DJ really played for the crowd. He is located in Pownal (Bennington.) His name is Rich Ryder.
We used Nick from Cool Cat - they're located in Albany/Glenville NY and traveled to Manchester for no additional charge.
He was awesome and only set us back about $800 - he was there from 10 am (set up for noon ceremony and entertained the guys while they were getting ready) until nearly 7 at night.
Can really read an audience, played all of our crazy suggestions and was able to find every song we were looking for.
Good luck!
We are getting married in Stowe and using Top Hat DJ. They really seem to know what they are doing and cost around $1250 for a 5 hour package. Check em out!

Hey Vermont brides!
I'm trying to find a good DJ for our wedding next September, and I was wondering if anyone was particularly happy with their experience?
It seems like the best DJ is for around $1650. That's a lot!
Yikes. Any words of wisdom?
