Wow that's a lot compared to my DJ here in London ON! I am paying 600 for 7.5 hours - which is our whole night, dinner and cocktail hour!
I tried negotiating with them and that didn't work out to well as I was booking early for a saturday wedding and they knew they could get someone else - however I did get them to through in the extra 30 min and I am paying up front so that I don't have to pay the tax.
My theory is that it doesn't hurt to ask! What is your budget maybe you could ask "My budget is $800 what can you do for me?"
Good Luck
No overtime? That is pretty great! And does that include set-up fees? I think you could negotiate if you want fewer hours, maybe...

Hi Bees,
How much can you negotiate with a DJ that is part of a company of DJs? I am looking at a DJ in the Toronto area right now who is charging $1000 for the entire night, no overtime charges, which is great. I know that may not be a lot compared to other places, but I really didn't want to spend that much for a DJ. How much is fair to negotiate?
On the other hand, can anyone recommendation a good and affordable DJ in the Toronto area?
Thank you!!
