my DJ costed me $695 for 4 hours and he threw in the following items for free: two wireless microphones, two mic stands, one music stand, and a light for the dance floor. each additional hour costed me $100.

Our DJ is $650 for 5 hours, he was originally $950 and we told him we didnt want to spend that much and he came back with $650! If they work for themself dont take the first offer!

@mishelleez: I agree! Ours worked with a company, even, and he normally charges $1500, but he did ours for $850 since we told him we were on a budget and he’d done my sister -in-law’s wedding.

Ours is around $650 for 7 hours. We’re having him through dinner and the reception!

My DJ cost $900 for 5 hours, he is throwing in uplighting & dance floor lighting for free.  We had to pay an extra $100 (included in the $900) because he has to setup outside for cocktail hour and then needs separate equipment for inside for the reception.  Just a note, he usually charges $299 extra just for the uplighting so it sounded like a deal to me!

I’m glad you started this post! I just got a quote for $1600! In Cincinnati! They are even well know DJs… I thought it sounded high…but now I know we need to ask these people to divide by 2! Sheesh!

wow, i’m disappointed. ours is $895 for 5 hours, no lighting or anything like that. but it seemed normal for the philadelphia area. the runner up dj was $1000.

I’m using Al from http://www.okynemedialab.com/.  He’s a little pricey but everything is included so there’s no hidden fees.  Also, just about every single one of my friends has used him for their wedding and he’s fantastic!  He even stayed until 4 am for one of my friend’s wedding!  I felt better spending a little more for someone that I know will keep my party going than taking my chances on someone cheaper.
