I know two great photographers through my work. Message me and I can give you their information.
Our photographer was Gillette Portrait Arts. We did an extensive search as this was the most important vendor for me. We went with Sam Hurd. www.samhurdphotography.com I love his style, his personality was laidback and his blog has so many amazing shots. Best part, he is there for the entire day, no set hour limit.
We used Madeline Marshall. We didn't want anything to artistic or too wedding photo staged. She, at the time, was still getting her Bachelor's (now I've heard she's getting her Masters) and had a internship with the Washington Post. So our photos had a great photojournalist style. But she also had enough wedding expereince to be able to do the standard family shots. Last I heard, her most expensive package is less than $3000.

We're using Exclamation Imagery - the main photog's name is Laura and she's based out of VA. She's super reasonable with prices and packages, and takes amazing photos (from what I've seen so far). Post coming soon about her stuff!
@PitBulLover: OMG thanks for sharing! I've been so busy planning lately that I haven't stalked him since we hired him a couple of months ago. So nice to see a wedding and feel reassured in our decision!
Check out RLawrence Photography--they are based in Southern PA but travel all over for weddings. Their packages and prices (very, very affordable) are online--they did both our engagement and wedding photos--PM and I can give you the login for our pics

I'm looking for a good photographer in the DMV area for a wedding at the Carnegie Institute. Anyone have any good referrals? I'd like to keep the budget around $3-4,000, which does limit some of my choices here!
