I can’t think of anything at the moment, but I’m interested to see the responses!

@fresitachulita:  I am currently 13 weeks pregnant. Since the moment I found out, the ONLY thing in my brain is being pregnant. That said, I try to keep the chatter at a minimum except here, with my SO (and even he can only listen so much) and my mom. It comes up with some friends, less with others. It is hard when you’re going through this really bizarre experience, but it’s like anything- no one cares as much as you and your mom.

@fresitachulita:  I have a co-worker who is a month farther ahead than me, she’s about 7 months pregnant, and she makes me insane with her diet – drinking coke every day and jokes about it and says that her baby has no choice….she’s young and not the brightest bulb. Makes me nuts.

I’m 33 weeks now and can say I know several of these people. 😐 First are the ones who still, even though I’ve told them to mind their own, insist on telling me how I’m eating or what I’m doing is “harming my [my] baby.”  Seriously, step off – I really, really don’t care if you think my having a coke or a glass of wine or going for a hike or taking the friggin’ stairs or setting up those chairs is going to make my baby have three eyes or whatever.  If you chose to avoid all caffeine or alcohol or outdoor pollution or think exercising while pregnant is dangerous, that’s fine.  That’s your choice, just like these are my choices.

Then there are the FB updaters.  I don’t know why, but it bothers me to know end when people post their pregnancies symptoms on FB.  Like, I’m having those same symptoms, but no one wants to hear about them.  For goodness sakes, keep your massive ‘roid issue between you, your SO and your healthcare provider.

And the terrible belly photos.  Can they been tastefully?  Absolutely.  But then there’s gems like:

This thread immediately made me think of not so much currently pregnant women, but women who have had babies. I’ve had a lot of pregnancy discussions in educational settings. When I became an EMT, when I became a paramedic, when I took A&P courses in college, I’m sure this will happen again when I start my core nursing courses, and most obnoxiously, when I am teaching pregnancy material to EMTs and paramedics, there is without a doubt always at LEAST one woman who has to talk ALL ABOUT her pregnancy/labor/birth/etc. Like in depth, trying to challenge the instructor/professor (or me if I’m instructing).

I or a professor will try to stress that what it being taught is a general type of thing, and obviously every woman is different. But that answer is never good enough, and it results in an arguement between the Mom and the instructor/professor because Mom is insisting on talking about HER pregnancy and how HER pregnancy differs from the material we’re trying to cover. And I don’t mean they’re trying to offer helpful, insightful information. They just want to argue. Makes me want to bang my head against a wall!

I think all pregnant women are annoying to some extent. I’m pregnant and I get annoyed with myself! It’s just hard because you can’t escape all the crazy things that are happening to you, and it often feels like nobody really understands. I try not to talk about it unless I’m asked. Unless you’re my DH, then you have to hear about it 24/7. Poor guy!

I’m terrified of being the annoying pregnant woman, so I try to only talk about my pregnancy when asked. But I’m part of an online forum with only women due in October so I get my fill of talking about it with them.

I don’t really remember any terribly annoying pregnant women at the moment, but I’m sure I’ve come across them.

I’ve had a lot of friends who were pregnant recently and they really weren’t very annoying (until they went overdue, then shit hit the fan!) But it really started getting bad when the babies were actually born. They seriously post a picture EVERY SINGLE DAY, and usually not even cute ones, and the updates are CONSTANT, one of them was talking about how her baby had a blowout…oh my ewww. I’m pregnant and they have inspired me to shut it up for sure.

I haven’t known many pregnant ladies but they all seem to keep talk down to a minimum!

Except for my old school friend, well she isn’t pregnant anymore but her daughter is a toddler and she just posted on facebook ‘she just did poos in the toilet!!!’. I unfriended her. The scary thing is that 6 other mothers commented on how awesome it is, and 26 people liked her status. WTF??????????
