We had one bridesmaid and one groomsman. My bridesmaid wore chocolate brown and the groomsman wore a black tux with a black tie.
Nothing HAS to look like anything - it only has to be what you want it to be. There are no rules, except be kind and courteous to your guests and GET MARRIED! :-)
OOPS I hit Yes instead of NO!!! haha sorry! I definitely don't think they have to wear the same color or shade. As long as they corespond and don't clash, definitely love mixing it up!
We're having a larger bridal party (6 on each side), and they won't be matching. The girls are wearing a mauvey shade, and while we briefly tried to match it I was more than happy to drop the idea and instead coordinate the bridal party. The guys will be in blue ties, and their bouts (which I'm making from fabric) will be the mauze color of the BMs. The BMs will have blue ribbon tied around their bouquets (again fabric flowers, this time, white, yellow and peach) to match the guys. I'm also planning to wear blue shoes, and FI will probably have a white bout. I'm not into the whole matchy/matchy thing and am excited to see how my idea pulls together.
Nope! I had a small wedding party - 3 on each side. My gals wore chocolate brown dresses and the boys wore cream suits with light green ties.
I am having matching elements for the bridal party, we have bridesmaids and best women, some will be in green dresses, and others will be in pants, shirt and tie, either the shirt or tie will match, not sure which yet.
i have clicked no though, because you certainly dont have to.

Our wedding party is small: one bridesmaid and two groomsmen. I've picked a color and dress for my maid of honor to wear (green, my favorite) from David's Bridal. Unfortunately, Men's Wearhouse doesn't have a vest/tie combo that matches the green. We have to use Men's Wearhouse because we live in PA but are getting married in ME and it's the only menswear shop in both states. Is it okay for the maid of honor to wear a different shade (or color) than the groomsmen?
