I love my dog. LOVE him. He brightens my day. And I like to believe that he loves me too. He follows me everywhere and is always licking me and laying in my lap. I was curious, do you think dogs “feel” in love with someone like we do? Is it possible that our dogs “feel” love with us? I know this is not something that can be proved but I thought it would be a fun topic 🙂

I always wondered this, too! I even asked FI once “Do you think Charlie knows I love him”
lol, I think they know we take care of them and are there for them, but Im not sure if its the same “love” that we feel, ya know?

I think they do, or why would they be so happy to see us. My dog will actually crawl on my lap and throw herself into my chest until I hug her and the other will crawl up like a baby and put a paw on either side of your neck and cuddle your neck. They also show love by trying to please you, that is why they are trainable.

I just read something that talked about how animals (more complex ones) do experience a wide range of emotions like humans do. I’m guessing that animals just don’t comprehend them as humans do. I am certain your dog loves you. 🙂
