Nope.

We had Fall e-pics and a summer wedding. Now we have 2 sets of fabulous photos, capturing hte beauty of two distinct seasons.

Not at all!

We had two sets done, some instudio & some outside. The instudio we wore spring colors (it was in March) the outside pics was taken during the fall. Our wedding was during the winter!

Instudio (springy colors) –

Nope, not at all. Our e-pics were incredibly informal and outdoors at Yosemite National Park. I was wearing cottong and minimal makeup. Our wedding was very formal and blingy.

The e-pics should just represent the two of you as a couple. Go for settings and locations that mean something to you as individuals and as a couple to create the most special photos.

No, I don’t think they need to “match”. Our engagement photos are very rustic/vintage and our wedding theme was classic/romantic/elegant. Our photographers aren’t even the same. Our engagement photographer is very rustic/instagram filter-y and our wedding photographer is a very photojournalism/unusual angles and lighting type person.

I wouldn’t worry about it.  Some couples have their engagement photos taken before they even have a clue where they’re getting married.  In my opinion, engagement photos should be more about the couple than the location or season.  If I were you, I wouldn’t give up the opportunity to shoot in Colorado in the Fall.  Mother Nature seems to favor your state, especially that time of year.  It will be almost impossible to compete with that gorgeous setting.  They will be ah-may-zing!

@Sweet.Sugar.Rose:  Oh goodness I did like five recaps. People were probably running to the hills to avoid said recaps. ๐Ÿ˜›

….would post more but I fear the retribution of the hive. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I don’t think they have to match in anyway whatsoever… either in my mind is a valid option.

Some Brides like their E-Pics to hint at the Wedding theme to come (or do something radically different / dramatic / theatrical) … others go the more traditional route, and just take E-Pics reflective of when and where in time they got engaged.

I am considering having some pics taken of Mr TTR and I to mark the occasion. As we are having an Elopement to a Beach Destination Wedding in the Winter (followed by a Caribbean Honeymoon shortly thereafter)… and as we live in the “interior” of the country… there is no way I can recreate this theme effectively.

So we are going to go with pics that best reflect the time and places that mean the most to us in our Dating timeframe.

I am therefore hoping that if all works out… and we’ll have some nice Autumn pics (we met in the Fall) taken with us enjoying one of our most favourite places inOntario… the 1000 Islands Region.

The only things they’ll have in common with our Wedding is there is water involed in both !!

As someone else said, I should be able to come away with 2 distinctly different sets of US Photos… one showing Canada’s Autumn Leaves in all their glory, and the other showcasing the US South and Caribbean as a Winter Get-away Destination.

Hope this helps,

PS… Lol, as an aside.  I plan to have a very casual (somewhat wacky) Back Home Reception in January.  No doubt the wind & snow will be blowing outside, and the thermometer probably reading well below Zero… but this Reception is going to be all about the Caribbean.  I plan to bring a bit of the “sunshine & warmth” home for my friends to enjoy indoors as we rock a Beach Themed Party (that should make for some fun pics too)

Definitely not!  I had friends send out e-pic invitations taken in full winter gear for a summer wedding.  Plus I think it will be fun for you guys to have professional pictures taken in two different times of the year.

My fiancee and I are getting married in July, but we’re doing a winter shoot because we like the contrast of seasons. In fact, we’re bringing signs with us that say “counting down the days till July 14th”, to make it funny. I say go for it!
