I ask because I’ve always been a true size 36/6 … I’ve always been less then 107lbs… but for some reason this year I’ve been walking out of my heels! I do have a narrow heel and I know sometimes shoes stretch, but this happens when I’m trying on new shoes in the store too!
It’s very small, but I’ve definitely gone down to a 35.5 or 36 with a necessary heel grip (that I never used to need).
I know sometimes it’s related weight, pregnancy, time of day, time of year… but I was a 36 for the last 10 years of my life and never wavered… not sure why I’ve suddenly “shrunk” now?
What is your experience?

Is it different brands? For the first time since I was in middle school I bought size 10 shoes today, but I think it had way more to do with brand than it does with my feet shrinking.

Mine did… i thought I was crazy, glad to see it’s happened to someone else. I went from a 9.5 to an 8.5 in American sizes

@chasesgirl: I don’t think so. I was generally a size 6 across the board with any brand.

My foot shrunk too!! I’m so glad I saw this post, I thought I was taking crazy pills lol. I went from a 6 to a 5.5 (US sizes).

I think they do. I used to be a size 6/6.5 and now I’m a size 5 lol I googled it when it happened and there are studies that show it does happen.

I think it happend to me as well! I used to wear a 10 in high school now I’m and 8.5 or a 9. WTF

I hope not. I wear a size 4 in women’s American size. I don’t think I could ever find heels again if they shrunk even a little. I’m hoping my feet will grow with pregnancy like some women have experienced.

Mine have got a size bigger with age! 🙁

Everything shrinks with age. When I was in my 20s, I was almost 5’8″.
Now I’m 50 and I’m 5’6 and a half.

My feet also grow with age!!

No your feet don’t shrink with age, but I have noticed the same thing, and I think they are actually making shoes bigger, as people are getting bigger/taller etc. I have a vintage pair of sixe 36 shoes and they are tiny.

Mine have slowly crept up a half size as I’ve gotten older!

@mrsbruff2b: I always thought people’s feet got bigger with age. Weight changes can affect shoe size, also. Are they starting to “vanity size” shoes now?

My feet definitely shrank since I started running again this past winter. I was told it might be because my arches are strengthening and shorten my foot. Have you started running at all?
