I paid for the ring bearer’s tux, but the flower girl’s mom insisted on buying her dress.  I didn’t tell her what to buy though, she already had something in mind.

I don’t think you have to buy them, but I wanted to do it to thank the parents for having the kids be a part of our day.

I think its pretty much up to the parents to foot the bill for their little one’s outfit. At least I hope so because we have 2 flower girls and 2 ring bearers and i certainly can’t include their outfits in our meager budget….

They should be purchased by the parents.  My Flower Girl and Ring Bearer are borther and sister to a single mom so we spoke to the tux rental to give him a discount.  I’ve also found some cute dresses online for really cheap.  If I have to buy her dress I will, she is my “niece” and I’m always dolling her up for holidays and such so it’s no big deal to me.  I have purchased her jewelry and headpiece already.
