No, of course you don’t need a theme. Personally, I think wedding themes are lame anyway.

Nah, you don’t need a theme. They can be useful for articulating how to tie things together, etc, but they aren’t a necessity. I think some people find them helpful for clarifying their design ideas by putting them into words, but they can become gimmicky if taken too far.

I never even heard of wedding themes until a couple of years ago. I’ve heard it said that themes are for children’s birthday parties. I wouldn’t go that for, but a theme certainly isn’t necessary. “Love” and “wedding” are themes enough.

To each his own, but my only theme will be us getting married, lol! I am thinking of making an emblem that represents us though, sort of like an antique crest.

“Wedding” is a perfect theme!

Agree with PPs.  My wedding theme is, “We’re getting married!  Also, I like red and and champagne!”

I’m going through the same thing right now, and am coming up with a complete loss. I have the colors that I would like to do, but that’s as far as I can seem to get. There are just so many ideas out there. I’m stuck!

Yeah, our theme was also “marriage.” 🙂 We didn’t even have “colors.”

OP, you definitely do NOT need a theme. Your wedding sounds like it will be lovely!
