I have been searching for a long time for a cute white dress for my shower in August. I haven’t really found any that I love. I guess the title of my post is misleading–I know I don’t HAVE to wear white to my shower. But are there many bees out there who haven’t? My bridesmaids keep making comments about how I should wear a white dress, so I feel like I should. I found this beautiful dress that has our wedding colors in it (navy and coral) and am thinking of wearing it instead.
What do you guys think?

I wore purple to mine. Wear whatever you want!

Wear that. Looks cute. White is not a requirement

I wore white because I wanted to, but you can wear whatever color you want!

I LOVE that dress, wear it!! I work a black dress to mine. No one expects the bride to wear white to everything 🙂

kag317: Wear it. It honestly kind of bugs me to do something b/c others want me to or because it’s expected. My mom always told me “the world is going one way and you’re going the exact opposite”, haha. Don’t get me wrong, I am wearing ivory for my actual wedding, but that’s more for FI! I’m not wearing white to my shower/bachelorette.

I wore jeans to mine so no you don’t have. Wear whatever you want

I still don’t understand why women feel the need to wear white to their showers so often. Your guests know you are the bride regardless of what you wear! That dress is adorable, totally wear it! Heck, I wore a bikini to mine.

I wore purple to my first one and pink to the other (family spread out= two bridal showers, ugh)!
I am wearing white to the rehearsal dinner, though.

I never wear white as I’m so pale I’m almost transparent. Didn’t wear white to my shower (didn’t even wear a white wedding dress!)

I’m not planning to wear white to mine. Love that dress – cute!

Wear the color that makes you happy. Wearing white to the showers is a REALLY new phenomenon (last ten years max) and most of the women I know who are getting married honestly don’t know about it until another recent bride tells them lol.

I don’t really think it matters, as long as you’re comfortable. My FSIL wore a hot pink top and a white skirt to her shower in April.

I don’t think it is necessary to wear white — I wore a very light peach coloured dress.
Wear whatever makes you comfortable!

That dress is SUPER adorable! I only wore white cause I got a lot of slack from my MOH. (I wanted to wear black. Apparently that’s a no-no lol) I agree with all the PPs to wear whatever’s comfortable!
