My church threw me a bridal shower. They put the announcement in the church bulletin and in the local newspaper. I am inviting the whole church to the wedding. Some ladies contributed towards a ladder at the local hardware store who are not members of my church. Do you think they expect an invite to the wedding? I don’t really know them. I think they just saw it in the paper and decided to contribute some money. Two of them did attend the shower. Am I obligated to invite them? I normally wouldn’t. I know all the websites say that whoever was invited to your shower should be invited to your wedding, but basically the whole community was invited!

@VanillaGrace: no you are definetly not obligated to invite them, but make sure you do send them a nice Thankyou card.

@VanillaGrace: I think they’d understand if they didn’t get an invite.

Normally, everyone who is invited to the shower must be invited to the wedding. But church/work/social group showers are the exception to this rule. So no, you do not need to invite them. You are in the clear!

@VanillaGrace: Yikes, that’s a tough one…I’ve read the same things, too. I’m really not sure what advice to give, other than to make sure to send thanks you’s 🙂
