I’ve pretty much finalized all the decor and signs I want for my wedding. I’m having the most trouble with that I will call the “welcome table”. We are having an outdoor ceremony followed by an indoor reception, and the guests will not be in the indoor space until cocktail hour. My venue suggested having a seperate gift table and guestbook table (both outdoors), but we aren’t using a traditional guestbook, so I am only planning on one table outside, near the ceremony site. On it, I plan to have the programs to take (before sitting), our cardbox, a few decorative flowers, and maybe a picture of us. Does this sound ok? And should I have a small sign or something saying “cards” or will people recognize my cardbox as a place to put cards? (It is a square, 2 tiered box, covered in fabric with a bow and a slot in the top tier – essentially it looks like a gift, if that makes sense).
what should I add or remove from this table? I’m stuck! Thanks!

@Snapdragon2804: I’m thinking you don’t need a sign, and that people can figure it out. That being said, if you’re unsure, maybe just make a sign anyway? 🙂 Everything you have on the table sounds great!

A friend suggested to me to put in random empty envelopes so people get the idea. I’m doing a bird cage card box and am actually putting a note that says “Cards” on it, because I like little crafty details like that.

@pengoala: I’m thinking people can figure it out too. I was hestitant to make a sign only because I didn’t know what type of sign to make (to match my decor). I probably won’t for sure now, thank you 🙂
@GeorgiaBride5: I like this idea – if I had done a card box where it wasn’t totally enclosed (birdcage, etc.) I would put empty envelopes too. No one can see inside mine though, so I can’t use that tactic to show what it’s for. I bet yours looks really cute 🙂

@Snapdragon2804: Thanks! It’s a work on progress, but here’s my inspiration in case you needed a sign idea. My sign will just say “Cards” and no date or anything else. I bet your table will come out great!
