We’re not having one. We don’t know any vegetarians so we didn’t see a need to.

Since you don’t have a large number of vegetarian guests attending, I wouldn’t bother. It seems like you have a fair amount of side dishes, so I think you’re safe.

@kitkat2014:  im vegetarian, and the last wedding i went to had no options. i ended up with a soggy potato and over cooked vegetables. it was gross and i had to fill up on dessert hours later. could you maybe include a pasta station? thats what we did and it appealed to everyone.

@kitkat2014:  As a former vegetarian, there’s not a lot of substance there – could you maybe swap one of the salads or either the rice or potatoes for something like a tortellini salad?  At least that has some protein in it and would probably cost the same.

For our wedding we had steak, chicken, or grilled shrimp.  The one vegan got a single vegan meal that was added for $20.  It was a mushroom ragout over rice with a salad.

@kitkat2014:  Oh well… it was worth a try.  If the one vegetarian you know of is someone close to you, I’d give them a heads-up so they have a snack beforehand.

We didn’t have one but then again none of our friends and family are vegetarians.

@kitkat2014:  yup.  It was a Hilton ballroom, and I chose a single meal from their plated dinner menu.  Did the same with my vendor meals and they had pasta and salad.

I’m a vegetarian and I would like to mention that at every event (wedding, work holiday parties etc…) I get the vegetarian meal and the meat eater friends taste it and kick themselves for not ordering it. You may want to add a vegetarian meal because non vegetarians can eat it too!

@soinlove79:  Agreed – I was still a vegetarian (vegan, actually) at the last wedding I went to and everyone else at the table, including my now-FI who is the biggest meat-eater I know, wanted my dinner instead of theirs.

As a Vegetarian who just went to a wedding last weekend, they had only mozzerella sticks for food, and an open bar.  Made for the open bar fun haha, but I ended up leaving early to get food because I was starved.

I always found people who are meat eaters love some Vegetarian food items too, but if you chose not to sub in a vegetarian option, at least you have enough sides for one to fill up on.
