I am not doing a garter/bouquet toss at my reception. (instead we are giving the tossing bouquet to the couple who has been married the longest!) Do I need to wear a garter? What are they used for other than the garter toss? FI could care less about removing one on the wedding night! I’ve also heard they are not comfortable.
Did you wear one? Should I suck it up and wear one for the heck of it. I don’t really care regardless- I just don’t know the point of them. Thanks for your input!

Funny thing is that I have been tossing this around myself (no pun intended)
There will be no garter or bouquet toss since this is an encore wedding, so do I even need one? Will I regret not having it later?

if you arent doing a toss then i dont see the point really, unless you want it for some cute photo opps – i did a toss though (it was tons of fun) and wearing the garter didnt bother me – i had it on through the ceremony until we did the garter toss so probably a good 3 or 4 hours.

I think it depends on your comfort level. I haven’t decided if I’m doing a toss or not, my mom has strongly encouraged me not to. After the spanx and other devices I’m wearing under my dress, I want to make sure I’m as comfortable as possible. I had always thought I’d wear something cute under my dress but now i’m thinking I’ll just change.

We didn’t do a toss so I didn’t wear one. I don’t feel like I missed out on anythinhg-other than maybe an itchy thigh all day : )
