I would say you need a couple more. All of the kids will eat them for sure and maybe sneak back for seconds.
I'm debating the same issue! We're doing closer to half and half cake/cupcakes, but still, I have no idea how many to order because there's SO many kids and I bet they'll go for seconds! Let us know what you decide. ^_^

We're actually ordering about 1.5 cupcakes per person but that's a mix of mini-cupcakes and regular sized ones with slightly more mini's than regular's. This number was the bakery's suggestion and I'm going with it since I don't mind having extra cupcakes!

I would order more to be safe. I think that with kids you run the risk of adults not getting dessert. Or you can add on an additional dessert option or order another 8" cake. Do whatever is most economical.
We are going to do a dessert bar. We plan on having cake cookies and a few other desserts. There won't be enough of any one thing for everyone, but combined there will be plenty.
Are you going to have everything served ot the guests, or are they coming up to get it? Becasue right now, with 108 cupcakes, and cake for 25, you only have 133 pieces max. You might need more, especially if you are setting up your cookie bar so that guests take the cookies at the end of the night, in a little to go container (as favors). If you are going to have the cupcakes, cake and cookies all on one table as a dessert, then you should have enough.

We just decided to do cupcakes rather than a tiered cake. We plan to have 150 guests, including 20 kids. Currently, we ordered 108 cupcakes (or 9 dozen) plus an 8" cake for the top tier of our cupcake stand and for pictures. The 8" round cake can feed 20 - 25.
Should we order more cupcakes or do you think we have everyone covered. I don't want any leftovers. Ohh, and we also plan to have a cookie buffet as favors, 15 dozen cookies for a total of 180 cookies.
