You don’t say what denomination you are, of if you are a regular church goer. It does make a difference!

Personally, I would say that unless your ceremony will be super short (10 mins) and requires no audience participation at all (ie nobody has to sit, stand, kneel, sing or pray) then you need them.

They are also a nice souvenir for your guests.

@Rachael1287:  I have to say, I find them helpful to work out the pace of the ceremony. And also, they’re quite a good place to print the readings, because sometimes the speakers are difficult to hear!

@Rachael1287:  Well, I suppose you don’t need them as such, but I still think it would be nice. They don’t need to be fancy… just a pretty price of paper, double sided, with the details on it. I also included a table plan, guide to the day, menu, venue details, and games to play in the back of mine, but you don’t have to do that.

@Rachael1287:  I made my own using left over scraps from my invites, but I don’t think they’re worth the money if you actually have to pay someone to print/design/assemble them.  Our ceremony was fairly simple (our guests remained seated, no guest readings, etc) and short (15-20 mins).
